CCITA: Executive Board Elections Thursday, Oct. 13th 5pm

We will be holding Elections for the current open Executive Board Member positions on October 13th at 5pm, room E1719. Please attend our meeting to vote for our new Executive Board Members. If you would like to add your name to the ballot for a position, show up and present your case to the attending members. If you are not able to be at this meeting and you still would like to be on the ballot for a position: complete an Executive Board Member Election Form found in the content on D2L and submit it to the D2L Assignment Box titled “Election Forms” by October 11th, 2016; deadline is 11:59pm. CCDC: Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition Team Meetings – Tuesdays 4pm

It’s a new season for CCDC and we are gearing up for a great year! CCDC is the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition event. Each year Century College puts together a team of students to compete in this unique competition. This event gives student exposure to IT issues and demands made in IT Departments everywhere. This intense competition takes a lot of preparation. You can learn a lot if you are willing to put in the time to research and practice. This is also an opportunity to meet new people and form bounds with CCDC Members.

We would like to invite everyone to attend CCDC meeting held every TUESDAY from 4pm to 6pm. Stop by and see what it’s all about!

CCITA: Gaming Party – October 11th/Tuesday from 12noon – 5:30pm

Join us as we play games on the big screen! This is a great chance to take a break from studying and have a little fun and socialize (in person) with other students! There will be games loaded on the class room computers. Drop in any time between 12noon and 5:30pm! Room 1719/1718

Century College Information Technology Association and Tech Dump have teamed up to create a one day drop off site at Century College on May 7th.

We are collecting: Cords, Cables, Computer-Mice, Cellphones, Game Consoles, Switches, Routers, Hubs, CPUs, Memory, Disk Drives, Laptops, Desktop Computers, Peripheral Cards and Harware!

-IgnITe Your Career Workshops: Presented by Advance IT MN. This is geared for IT Students to prepare for finding and landing the perfect IT job and get your career heading in the direction you want to go! Starting January 21st!

-CCITA Hands-on Workshops: We explore a variety of different technology programs and aspects that are not always taught in class. Giving everyone a chance to learn something new. Watch for our next hands-on workshop in February!

-LAN Party! : Who doesn’t like to party?!? This is a great chance to hang out with each other and relax with a little competition! We project the games on the big screens and have a great time. Watch for the dates of our next LAN Party and drop in!

-Secure360: The large Cyber Security Conference is coming to Saint Paul in May. CCITA will help sponsor Century College Students to attend this huge event. Watch for additional information and details in our upcoming newsletters about your chance to attend Secure360!

CCITA: Hand-on Workshop: Linux

Monday, November 16th at 3:00pm – 5:00pm in Room E1734

We will be using CentOS open source Linux to dive into the basics! This will be a great way to see Linux for the first time or to get a refresher on those CLI commands.
